With over 80,000 visitors, the event highlighted groundbreaking trends and innovations, setting the stage for the future of global and local media landscapes.
The fourth edition of the Saudi Media Forum, held from February 19 to 21 under the theme “Media in an Evolving World,” wrapped up in Riyadh, leaving a significant mark on the regional and global media landscape. The event, one of the largest of its kind in the Middle East, attracted over 80,000 visitors, both local and international, and saw the participation of key industry leaders and professionals from across the globe.

The forum’s closing ceremony, attended by Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary and other dignitaries, was a culmination of three days of vibrant dialogue, workshops, and discussions. During the ceremony, the winners of the forum’s prestigious media and communications awards were announced, recognizing excellence across 14 categories.
With more than 80 dialogue sessions and 30 workshops, the forum served as a platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration. Participants delved into critical topics such as the future of media in a digital-first world, the evolving role of media in global communication, and the impact of new technologies on the sector.
One of the highlights of the event was the launch of five new initiatives designed to foster the growth of national media talent. These initiatives will play a key role in developing the skills needed for the future of Saudi Arabia’s media industry. Furthermore, six interactive experiences showcased the latest emerging trends, giving attendees a glimpse into the future of media technology and storytelling.

In addition to industry discussions, the Future of Media Exhibition (FOMEX) served as an exciting platform for showcasing the latest advancements in media technology. Over 250 local and international companies participated, presenting innovative solutions aimed at transforming the media sector.
Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Information & Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, highlighted his government’s focus on developing a “vibrant media that covers all aspects of the digital domain,” adding that this goal could only be achieved through enhanced collaboration between foreign and local outlets.

“I believe it’s collaboration and cooperation that make the world go round,” he said. “Living in one country and not being able to communicate or collaborate would bring things to a grinding halt because, eventually, your market begins to saturate.”
“There’s always room for growth,” he continued. “There’s always room for development. And there’s always room for improvement.”

The forum also facilitated 16 strategic partnerships and signed memoranda of understanding (MOUs) between government agencies and the private sector. These agreements, which span areas such as broadcasting, media training, and national expertise development in tourism and sports storytelling, align with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. The collaborations aim to enhance Saudi Arabia’s global position in the media and communications industry, contributing to the country’s economy and media landscape.
