In a joint statement, the foreign ministers of Germany, France, and the United Kingdom called on Israel to comply with international law and ensure the free flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza.
The appeal comes amid growing international concern over the humanitarian crisis in the region. The joint statement reflects mounting European concern over the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in the enclave.
The ministers emphasized that “humanitarian aid must never be used as a political tool,” and firmly opposed any demographic or territorial changes to Palestinian land. “The decision to block aid to Gaza is intolerable,” the ministers said, asserting Israel’s legal obligation to permit unhindered access for humanitarian assistance under international law.

They also expressed outrage over recent Israeli strikes that reportedly hit humanitarian personnel, medical facilities, and civilian infrastructure. While urging Israel to adhere to international humanitarian principles, the European leaders also directed criticism at Hamas. They called on the group to release all remaining hostages immediately and warned against the diversion of aid for militant or financial purposes.

“Hamas must not divert aid for their own financial gain or use civilian infrastructure for military purposes,” the statement said.
The ministers reaffirmed their support for a ceasefire and emphasized the need for all parties to return to negotiations to de-escalate the conflict. The statement is one of the strongest diplomatic interventions from Europe since the beginning of the latest escalation in Gaza.

The situation in Gaza has prompted urgent appeals from the UN and multiple humanitarian organizations, citing severe shortages of food, medical supplies, and shelter for displaced civilians. The European ministers’ remarks add pressure on Israel amid growing international scrutiny of its military operations in Gaza and the resulting civilian toll.
As diplomatic efforts intensify, attention now turns to whether this joint European stance will influence Israeli policy or bring renewed momentum to ceasefire negotiations.
