South Korea’s ruling party has stated it will respect the Constitutional Court’s upcoming decision on President Yoon Suk-yeol’s impeachment.
The eight-judge panel is expected to deliver its verdict in the coming days, a ruling that could have major political implications for the country’s leadership and governance.
South Korea’s ruling party on Sunday announced it will accept “whatever” decision the Constitutional Court makes on President Yoon Suk Yeol’s impeachment.
Kweon Seong-dong, the floor leader of the People Power Party (PPP), outlined the party’s official stance ahead of the ruling, which is expected to cap the months-long political crisis haunting the nation since Yoon‘s botched attempt to impose martial law last December.

The eight-judge court has yet to announce the date of the ruling, though many observers expect it to take place in the next few days, Seoul-based News reported.
“Our party’s official stance is that (we) will accept the court’s decision,” Kweon told reporters in Seoul.
“As you all know, constitutional trials are single-trial cases … once a ruling is made, the outcome is binding for everyone.”
